Luther Barrett

Luther, better known as "Butch," lived across the street from me on Matthew St in the area of Durham called the bottom. We became the best of friends more so like brother and sister because we grew up together. Everywhere I went he and his sister went. We played cowboys and Indians, shot marbles together, went to Hillside Park pool together, and played in Forest Hills Park together. When he became of age to go to school, we walked to Pearson School together. After school I would help him with his homework and he always did well in school. We had great times together as children. In his passing I truly feel like I have lost a brother. My heart goes out to the family and I say, may God bless you and give you peace. Love always, Fay
