Mr. Richard Saul Cooper, 80, resident of Hillsborough, NC passed on December 22, 2020 at Hock Family Pavilion.
So saddened to learn of the passing of an amazing therapist. I saw Dr. Richard Cooper for many years and he helped me transition from a bad marriage into a confident single woman. I know he was a piano player and I gave him a CD. We had lost touch for a period of time till I had a new crisis in my life and contacted him and he was happy to see me again. I had wanted to see him again because he was such a wonderful person to be able to pour one's heart out too. And you knew he really listened and cared. He was one of a kind. You don't find many like that anymore. And I learned about him and his family too a little.... The world was a better place because Richard Cooper decided to change his profession late in life and simply because he was born. I have been blessed by him and I pray that God will bless his family.
Dr Cooper was my therapist as well. I share similar feelings to those expressed above. by another of his patients. He was a humble , easy going individual with tons of empathy to offer. I will miss him dearly. My deepest sympathies to his wife and daughters.
Correction to condolence message he was a kind EMPATHETIC listener. I apologizethat my relationship with the spell correct function is so poor. My name is Ken Smith of Durham.
Dr Cooper was my therapist. We spoke nearly every week for at least an hour in person or by phone for over a decade. So for me he became a dear friend and his passing leaves a big hole in my life and my heart. He was an amazing guy who pretty much did it all. He was, in addition to being a psychologist, a trained actor, a musician, a proctor for the 12th Circuit Court in NYC and God knows what else. Perhapsost important, he eas a kind, pathetic listener wh brought comfort and healing to many including me. My deepest sympathies to his family.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
