Allene Whatley Bailey "Flea"
Funeral service for Allene Whatley Bailey "Flea" 74, will be Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 2:20 pm at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Carlton Phillips, pastor, Rev. Erik S. McClellan, eulogist. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Ms. Bailey passed away on December 7, 2025 in Greensboro, NC. Ms. Bailey's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Visitations will be Saturday, Dec. 13, from 1-6 pm at Anniston Funeral Service.
Ms. Bailey was a 1969 graduate of Cobb Avenue High School, a long time member of Mahogany Social & Savings Club and was employed by Walmart in Anniston as a cashier for more than 18 years.
Survivors include her longtime partner: Joe Atchison; her sons: Eugene Bailey (Linda), Jarvis (Corma) Bailey and Cedric Bailey; bonus children; Tammy Christian Holiness, Tracye Christian Dacus, Theron Christian, Renae Thomas, Antwan Atchison (Lea), Carlos Atchison (Keisha), Slash Jenkins (Charles), and Sonya Nunn (Nick); sisters: Clara Roberts (Tom) and Constance Askew; brothers: Charles Whatley (Marilyn) and Gregory Whatley; grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; aunt: Gloria Johnson; brother in-law: Rev. Curtis Manning; sister in-law: Angela Whatley; special friends: Gayle McClellan, Beatrice Hardy, Jackie Rives, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Mr. Willie Joe Whatley and Mrs. Alice Juanita Whatley, sister, Brenda Joyce Manning, brothers, Willie Joe Whatley Jr. and Donald Earl Whatley, and special friend, Macy Carter. Anniston Funeral Service Jeffrey C. Williams 256-236-0319
