Funeral service for Ashley Tearra Blackwell 29, will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11 am at the Anniston Funeral Service Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anginette English, officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Ms. Blackwell passed away on August 25, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026 for 1 - 6PM.

Ashley was a talented writer, journalist, author, graphic designer, and entrepreneur. She loved writing books, creating graphic designs, and working on creative projects. Alongside her big sister and best friend, Brianna, she co-founded BriAsh Media. Ashley built an accomplished career in journalism, writing for several publications, including Baller Alert, Parlé Magazine, The Curvy Fashionista, Bleu Magazine, and others. She developed her own brand, Ashley Te'Arra, pursuing her passion as an author while also designing book covers and graphics for fellow authors and creatives.

Survivors include her mother: Beverly Blackwell; her sister: Brianna Blackwell; her brothers: Geoffrey Richardson and Ronald Robertson; her aunts: Janet Deal, Diane Mixon, Elizabeth Welch, and LaTonya Welch; her uncles: Gregory (Connie) Welch, Jewell (Greta) Blackwell, and Robert (Noble) Blackwell, cousins, other relatives, colleagues, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Welch, grandparents, Jewell Blackwell Sr. and Sarah Blackwell, Roy Welch and Sarah Welch, uncle, Anthony Welch, her great aunt, Eira Ware.
