Funeral service for Bettye J. Stephens 88, will be Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 1 pm at The Rhema Christian Center with Dr. Joseph Brown, officiating, and Dr. Rev. Micheal Joiner, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Heflin. Mrs. Stephens passed away on June 1, 2026. Mrs. Stephens' remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service.

Mrs. Stephens graduated from Calhoun County Training School. She later worked at the Headstart Center in Heflin, AL for several years then later at Cleburne County Nursing Home. She enjoyed taking care of people and had a passion for cooking. She was a devoted member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons: Steve and Terry (Danielle) Stephens; grandchildren: Devarius Stephens, Megan Stephens, Mirakle Stephens, and Morgan Stephens. She also leaves behind Charles Jennings, James Earl Jeaning, Marie Hyde Aileen Jennings, and a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Pauline Jennings, her husband, Clifford Stephens, sisters, Frances Walker, Martha Johnson, Dorothy Roberts, Willie Jackson, Charlotte Burton, brother, Fred Jennings Jr.
