Funeral service for Mr. Calvin Johnson 84, formerly of Albany, GA, was Friday, July 17, 2026 at 12 pm EST at the Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, with his oldest grandson, Rev. E. Tramaine Solomon, officiating. Services were under the direction of Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel, Albany, GA. He transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

He received his education in the Dougherty County School System and was reared spiritually at Jordan Grove Baptist Church. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, working with his hands, and watching westerns and his beloved Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela Riggins (Adrian), Gwendolyn Solomon, and Tara Pope (Daniel); his sons: Calvin Johnson, Jr. (Kimberly) and Calvin Morman; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; 4 sisters in-law, 1 brother in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Bell Johnson; his parents, Wilson Johnson, Sr. and Lille Bell Draper Johnson; 9 siblings, grandsons, Adrian Riggins, Jr. and Antonio Solomon, his son in-love, Dr. Edmund H. Solomon.
