Funeral service for Claudia M. Smith 85, will be Friday, October 17, 2025 at 1 pm at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton Phillips, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith passed away on October 7, 2025 at Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Smith's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service.

Mrs. Smith graduated from Cobb Avenue High School in the Class of 1957. She was a founding member of Cobb High School Mass Reunion Organization in 1977. She retired from the Anniston School System. Mrs. Smith was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children: James (Pam) Smith, Vergena (Andra) Richardson, Anitra Smith-Johnson, Felecia Smith-Brown, Nichelle Smith; her grandchildren: Temecha (Kevin Williams), Marquise Smith, Kendra Worthy, Vonsheeka (Quincy) Bowie, Quineka Smith, Derek Smith, Janeshia Smith, DeMarquis (NyAsia) Smith, Jerome Brown, Andre Richardson Jr., Devion Smith; her brother: Joseph (Lilly) Betts; her special friend and caregiver: Angie Veal; other relatives and friends. We believe the love of her life James L Smith was waiting to greet her, along with Derek Leo and Danielle Smith, Her mother, Carrie Mayo and her Sissy, Shirley her brother, William Albert, Mama Mayo.
