Funeral service for Emma J. Baker 85, will be Friday, September 24, at 1 pm at the Anniston Funeral Service Outreach Ministry in the Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carlton Phillips, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Baker passed away on September 15, 2021. Mrs. Baker graduated in 1954 from Randolph County Training School. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Baker was the owner and retired from Mane Attraction Hair Solon. Survivors include her children: Rev. Michael (LaVerne) Scales Sr., Anise Scales Dorthard, Morgan Baker III, Deanna J Baker Holmes; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sister: Paulette Morse, brother in-law: Gene T. Whitlow; bonus daughter: Ima J. Lamar other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents,Tommie Lee and Alberta Smith Wood, her husband, Morgan Baker, Jr., siblings, Yvonne Wood Whitlow, Lonnie Lee Wood, grandson, Mario Scales.
