Funeral service for James "Edward" Jemison 81, will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 1 pm at the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, Munford with Reverend Isaac Chappell, officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery. Mr. Jemison passed away on April 17, 2026 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital, Dallas, Ga.

Mr. Jemison's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Public visitation will be Tuesday, 1-6 pm at Anniston Funeral Service. He confessed Christ at an early age at Sweet Home Baptist Church. Mr. James Edward was a dog trainer, a hunter, a gardener, a cook and most of all, a father to four children. He never met a stranger, and folks would come near and far to be in his presence to allow him to train their dogs or have the honor to hunt with him.

Survivors include his devoted family: Merinda (Duane) Donovan, Terriace Jemison, and Tonesha (Heather) George; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings: Grady Cade (Mary), Roberta Bowden, (John), Mitchell Jemison, Jr. (Delores), Geraldine Bradford, and Grayland Jemison, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell Lee, Sr. and Evelyn Jemison; his spouse, Mae Lois Jemison, a son Toddy Jemison, an infant grandchild, and a sister, Susie Lynch. Anniston Funeral Service Jeffrey C. Williams 256-236-0319
