Preston Curry Jr.

Funeral service for Preston Curry, Jr. 73, will be Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 1 pm at the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Arthur Cottingham, officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Curry passed away on August 7, 2026 at University of Alabama Hospital, Birmingham. Visitation will be on Friday, August 14, from 1pm until 6 pm. Mrs. Curry's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. He was a member of the Mount Liberty Baptist Church.

Mr. Curry was a well respected member of his community as well as a positive figure to many over the years. He graduated from Walter H. Wellborn High School Class of 1972. He continued his education attending Gadsden State Jr. College. Shortly after enrolling he was drafted into the US Army where he served 18 1/2 years before he retired.

Survivors include his daughter: Vicki Thomas (Michael); grandchildren: Michael and Mikayla Curry; siblings: Gladys Curry, Avis Curry, Rachael Curry-Thomas, Tommie Russell (Mary), George (Belia) Curry, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston Sr., and Ella Curry, his wife, Carol Curry, grandparents, George and Lillie Curry, Fred and Louise Hawkins, siblings, Gloria Sanford, Wylene Curry, Theodore Curry.
