Funeral service for Vinenet E. Simon 76, will be Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 3 PM at the Greater Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Hershey Taylor, officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Ms. Simon's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Visitation will be Friday, from 1-6 PM.

Survivors include her children: Cynthia Beard, Tonya (Derrick) Williams, Barry (Sheila) Prothro, Shervier Prothro; 10 grandchildren; great grandchildren; her siblings: Minnie L. Bradford, Mary A. Anderson, Inell Perkins, Dollie Ridley, Leo Simon, Bobby Simon, Elbert Simon, Larry Simon, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellison Simon, Sr. and Elizabeth Kent, siblings, Ellison Simon, Jr., Lynnell Simon and Geneva Bridges.
