Debra Woodland-Lee Sunrise: April 28r1956 Sunset: February 14, 2023 -Reflections of Life- On April 28th, 1956, the late Donald and Delores Woodland Sr., were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Debra Elaine Woodland. This precious event took place at Harlem Hospital in New York City. Debra departed this earth on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Montefiore Wakefield in the Bronx, New York. She gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, Jennifer Ann Parker, on June 20, 1980. Debra married Melvin Lee on lune 24, 1989, and that union blessed them with their son, Melik Terryl Lee, on October 13, 1994' Most of her free time was spent at St. Mark the Evangelist Church. She served on parish counsel at the Harlem Deanery. She was a choir member for over thirty-years and oversaw the altar servers. She was also a part of the St. Mart Women's group, where she served on several committees. Debra was educated in the Catholic School System. She attended St. Thomas the Apostle for elementary and St. Jean Baptiste high school in New York City' While at St. Jea1, Debra became an advocate for her people, which led her to start the first African-American club. She went on to volunteer at Harlem Hospital as a candy stripper, then later hired as staff, where she worked for over thirty-seven years. She was also a Girl Scout leader from 1987 into the early 90's. She retired from Harlem Hospital as a manager on November 11,2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Delores, her brother Donald E. Woodland Jr, and sister-in-law Dieatrea Lee. Debra leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Melvin Lee, daughter, Jennifer Parker, son, Melik Lee and daughter-in-law, Destony Lee, grandson, Christopher Thomas, grand dog, Harlem, 3 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, her cousins Sharyn, Omie, McArthur, and Barbara, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She also leaves behind her sisters in love, Cheryl, Katie, Tracey, Lottie, Iris, and Gloria We were all blessed to have known such a phenomenal woman. Her beautiful soul touched many lives, and she will be forever remembered in our hearts. Debra showed compassion and support to everyone she encountered. She enjoyed living life and creating unforgettable memories with family and friends. As a caring mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend, Debra embraced you with a smile. Debra shared love here on earth until our Heavenly Father called her home to rest.
To the family and friends of Mrs. Lee always cherish the fond memories of time spent together and although you may grieve the Bible can be a source of comfort. At (Revelation 21:3,4) it speaks of a time when there will be no more sickness or death, also at (Acts 24:15) it speaks of a resurrection that we all can look forward to. May the peace and love of the God of all comfort be with you all. Comfort can be found in our Creator through prayer and through his word the Bible and in our Savior Jesus Christ.
