Doris Scott Thomas, daughter of Dorothy Mae Scott, was born in Harlem Hospital on December 31, 1933. She was raised with her two brothers, Billy Scott and Robert Scott (Uncle Blip), brother of Aunt Buzzy, and one sister, Ruth Browne. Her brothers and sister preceded her in death. The Lord called Doris to her final resting place on February 7, 2025.
Doris was married to Gidden Thomas, and from that union, they had three wonderful sons: Gidden Thomas Jr. (deceased), Glen Thomas (deceased), and Guy Thomas. Doris was an overachiever. She achieved her GED, taught herself the fundamentals of typing, and learned the Aspects of Business principles.
Doris loved to cook, enjoy music, and spend time with her family. She had an infectious smile that warmed the hearts of many. She was a humanitarian who gave to various charities. Doris was a hard worker and worked at Lorillard Company, and in her free time, she became part of the Tenant Association. Whenever she could lend a helping hand, she would. Doris also loved to knit and crochet. She made all her grandson's outfits from crocheting. Her memories we cherish in our hearts forever.
Guy Thomas, her only surviving son, married Jeannie Johnson, and together they had a daughter named Guyonna Thomas. Doris leaves behind to cherish the memories of her loving family, her grandsons Guy Thomas Jr., Glen Thomas Jr., Dasan Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Jason Thomas, and granddaughters Jaida Thomas and Guyonna Thomas. Nieces Vera Thomas Dubose, Jean Scott, Desiree Thomas Adams, Gina Thomas, Yvonne Thomas, Tiffany Brown, and Candy Belton (deceased); nephews Andre Williams (deceased), Frank Thomas, Charles Thomas, Melvin Browne, Marvin Browne, Kevin Browne, Andre Belton, Glen Belton, and Darius Hammond. In addition to great-grandchildren and her best friend Ms. Jay. She will be truly missed.
