Georgetta was affectionately called “Getta” and “Auntie Getta” by her immediate family and many, nieces and nephews. She received her early education through high school in New York. She attended Franklin High School in Harlem.
She worked as a Clerical Associate for many years, concluding her career with the New York City Housing Authority. Getta loved watching her soap operas and westerns and took special pride in tending to her houseplants, her plants flourished both at home and at work, truly a testament to her “green thumb.” She enjoyed traveling, going out, shopping, and loved fashion. Getta especially cherished spending time with her great-nephew Iyrah, who brought so much happiness to her life. A devoted sister, aunt, motherly figure, and friend, she always put her family first, thinking of them before herself.
