Jarmel Benjamin Ellis was born on May 16, 1983, at Downstate Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, to Donna Sanders and the late Ronald B. Ellis.
Jarmel was a fun-loving person who truly enjoyed life. Known as the King of the party, he brought energy, laughter, and joy wherever he went. He loved to cook and took pride in preparing a 10-course meal, often turning gatherings into unforgettable moments. He also enjoyed decorating and hosting, making every event feel special. Whether it was a party or a cookout, Jarmel made sure everyone felt welcomed.
In addition to his love for entertaining, Jarmel was a singer and loved to dance, expressing himself through music and movement.
Jarmel will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his love for life, and the joy he brought into every room. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to mourn his loving mother, Donna Sanders; his brothers and sisters, Nathaniel, Eloise, Dena, Roberta, Lawrence, and Donald; his aunts, Annette and Blondine; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He is reunited in eternal rest with his father, Ronald B. Ellis, and his late sister, Essie.

I remember many, many years ago when Jarmel used to walked me hone with my children when I still lived on 135th street. We used to spend a lot of time talking about everything and nothing at all. He would always come help me when I needed help getting the sleepy kids home or even just to keep my company for the few blocks. One day I had to move my mother's car from my block back to 131st because Commonsense was sleeping and the car had to be returned to my mom by a certain time. I only had my learner's permit, mind you I had yet to really be behind a wheel or anything of the sort. And back then Jarmel didn't have a license either but he knew basic knowledge and how to get done what I needed to get done. I believe that he wasn't even in his 20s yet this is how long ago this was. So I proceeded to try and drive the car 4 blocks with his help. I had NO IDEA what I was doing but he talked me through the entire process. We both laughed so hard at my attempts to drive and park that the memory stayed with me to this very day. I also remember Jarmel as a young teenager who loved to sing and was a part of a youth choir of some sort. I would get him to come sit outside with me just to hear him sing. He was so very talented and so fun loving. He will forever hold a place in my heart. There are so many things that I can share but I know that there is not enough characters for the words. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Ms. Donna and the entire Ellis family. May his memory forever live on within you all.
To The Family, Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4"And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
