Obituary For Jose Garcia

Jose L. Garcia a father, a friend, a mentor, and advisor to many lost his life tragically on July 19th, 2021. He was born on November 8th, 1964, in New York to Thomasina S. Polanco and Jose Clemente-Garcia. His parents who immigrated from Dominican Republic instilled abundance of hard work and core values into their son. He graduated from Manhattan Vocational High School and then proceeded on to the United States Marine Corp while juggling studies with Brooklyn College and received a computer science degree. He then proceeded to receive a bachelors at University of Southern California (Physical Education B.S.). He grew with Amtrak for over 25 years and lastly held a position as an engineer. He held several miscellaneous jobs related to fitness and transportation. He was entered in the deadlift hall of fame in 2008. He loved traveling, photography, hall of fame in 2008. He loved traveling, photography, writing poetry, weightlifting, prospecting new foods and cultures, and cycling. Jose lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures of going throughout his neighborhood exploring, cigar smoking, traveling, and knowing every statistic of each Yankee player. He leaves behind his four greatest creations, his children, Justine C. Espinal (Garcia), Joshua A. Garcia, Joie L. Garcia, Mia I. Garcia and Kelvyn J. Espinal (son in law). His beloved grandchildren, Sarah X. Espinal, Norah N. Espinal, Kelvyn J. Espinal Jr. He is survived by his sister Lucia Borrero, Jose O. Garcia, Jennifer Garcia, Josefine Garcia, and Candida Garcia. He leaves behind a special cousin Valentina and special niece Omara, Tamara, Joey, and Franchesca. He leaves behind a host of mieces, cousins and nephews. He is survived by a handful of aunts and elders. He holds dear to his heart his friend Mike and 191st friends that were more than the equivalent of family to him. He will be greatly missed and passed away doing something he loved the most.
