Along with his family, Lenny moved to Spanish Harlem in the early 1970s and lived in the Lehman Village Projects. He attended New York City public schools, including P.S. 108 and Junior High School 13, during his youth.
Celebrating The Life & Legacy:
Lyndon Jamison, affectionately known as Lenny to his friends and family, entered the world on August 4, 1960, in the Bronx, New York, and grew up in the Highbridge Houses in the South Bronx. Born to Southern parents, Joseph and Orfean Jamison, Lenny was the third of six children.
Drawing and art were among Lenny’s many gifts. He was extremely talented, with the ability to create beautiful sketches and paintings. To further showcase his artistic gift, when he was a young teenager, he worked at Georgie’s Flower Shop, arranging stunning bouquets and delivering them to customers throughout New York City. He also mentored other employees who worked alongside him.
As a young man, Lenny began a career as a Sanitation Engineer at Fisher Brothers, where he retired.
Lenny was loved unconditionally by his family. He was also unwavering in expressing love to those around him. He cared deeply for his children, siblings, and extended family. He loved to travel and spend time with his loved ones in New York City, Virginia, and any other place where he could share his love.
On February 19, 2026, Lyndon was called home. He departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. He is survived by his loving mother, Orfean Jamison; his devoted children, Wendell Leon Jamison, Kendell Deion Jamison, Taniya Irene Nanton, Autumn Milan Jamison, Lyndon Julian Jamison Jr., and Delon Jeffery Williams; his grandchildren, Madison Augustin, Melony Augustin, Mya Bells, Kirah Jamison, Zacchariah Jamison, Kendell Jamison Jr., and Malaiya Williams; and his siblings, Christine Mishoe, Nathaniel Jamison, Gail Jamison, Charlotte Jamison, and Isaac Jamison. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Lenny was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jamison Sr., and his brother, Joseph Jamison Jr.
A Prayer For His Mother:
Dear Heavenly Father, we lift Mama Orfean Jamison up to you, a mother who has experienced the heart-wrenching loss of her son. In this time of deep sorrow and uncertainty, we pray that she would lean into You, Jesus, as her ultimate source of strength, comfort, and refuge. Amen.
Big Wen and Big Ken:
Our father raised us to look out for one another, no matter the situation. He taught us love, kindness, compassion, empathy, strength, and how to protect ourselves. He was hardworking and never gave up in life, despite all challenges. He was the ROCK of our lives, and we will miss him dearly. He loved his food, including pizza, burgers, and milkshakes. He made birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments special. He used the many lessons from his past to help his children navigate the future. Some of his most memorable quotes were:
“If you're mad, take a walk.”, “The act of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.”, and “It’s okay to love. Love is a great thing; just know when to fall back. If things change, keep loving.” Forever Big L.
Porky, Juliano, and Nya:
We love you and miss you so much, Dad! We'll cherish the moments we shared, filled with love and laughter. May you rest comfortably in Heaven.
Flapjack:
Lyndon,
I know you may never be able to read this message I left, but I hope it is relayed to you in the next life, wherever you may have truly gone. I made many mistakes, and even though I caused a lot of trouble, I am always thankful to have had you as my father and my dad. I miss you so much, and I thank you for absolutely everything you have done for me, both as a father and as a person. I appreciated you more than you will ever know, especially while dealing with someone who isn’t your biological son. I hope, honest to God, that if you ever feel this or see this message, you are resting well and flying high. I will always love you, and you will always be my true father.
To Our Beloved Brother,
f tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. Our hearts are heavy, and we seek comfort in this time of loss. We will miss your laugh, your silly and fun ways, and your big heart and smile, which lit up every room. In our time of need, we reflect on the love we shared and the time we spent together. We know now there is a new angel in Heaven watching over us. Lenny, a part of us is gone but never, ever forgotten. We love you, our dear brother. Rest well for all eternity.
Love, your sisters and brothers,
Christine, Nathaniel, Gail, Charlotte, and Isaac
