Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd I shall not
want. He maketh me to lie down in green
pastures; He leadeth me beside the still
waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me
in the paths of righteousness for his name’s
sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before
me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou
anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth
over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow
me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in
the house of the LORD for ever.

We knew Melvin Allen since we moved into 2 South End Avenue in 1990.
Melvin would always have an inviting smile when greeting us, and engage us in conversation.
After 911 we moved out but kept our unit, and whenever we came to visit we would be greeted as long lost friends and share family updates.
I know we will all miss Melvin's presence.
Please accept our heartfelt Condolences for your grave loss.
with love,
I knew Allen at the Cove Club for the 25 years he worked there. He was such a special man. It always seemed to me that he truly cared about each resident.
He would always ask about my older siblings, and he loved talking about his own children.
His presence in the lobby made such a difference to all of us. We will truly miss him.
Condolences to all of his family members whom he loved.
Rest in Peace, Allen
Fondly, Mary Boland
To the beautiful Allen family - He was the best - the nicest guy and the sweetest person. I know him 30+ years - even before he worked at the Cove and was security in the area. He always made me laugh. He loved his family so much and would always talk about his children. I would put sparkles in his Christmas envelope for his daughter as he would tell me how much she loved them. I will miss him and his voice, his swagger, and most of all his laugh. May God bless this beautiful soul. You now have an angle watching over you.
Our sincerest condolonces to the Allen family. Mr. Allen was one of the sweetest, kindest men we have ever known. It was just wonderful to come home and get a warm greeting from him. He was kind not only to us, but to our family as well. We still miss him. Randi and Bruce Gelman
My deepest condolences to your family, especially the grandchildren you so dearly loved, talked about, and were so proud of. You were always so kind, always so helpful, at at times, hysterically funny. I will miss your smile, but somewhat glad your suffering has ended, and you are in God's hands.
I am very sorry to learn of Allen's death. He worked in the building where I'm a resident and was always kind, helpful, and he had a smile on his face. He never failed to say 'hello' or make time for a chat. He will be remembered and missed. Caz Phillips
