Mildred "Millie" Ramos born on April 28, 1949, in Manhattan, New York, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in the Bronx, New York. She was the cherished daughter of Miguel Angel Ramos and Carmen Rivera and spent her childhood on Riverside Drive.
In 1989, Millie met Daniel Hardy, the love of her life. Danny fondly remembered their first meeting as love at first sight. That day, Millie wore a white dress with black polka dots—a moment that began their beautiful journey together. They moved in together later that year and were married on August 15, 2000.
Raised in the Catholic faith, Millie embraced her role as the only girl in her family with warmth and responsibility, often helping her grandmother, Carmen Rodriguez, care for her younger cousins. Millie’s vibrant spirit shone brightly throughout her life. She attended the Fred Astaire Dance School, where she nurtured her love for singing and dancing—talents that brought joy to those around her. She was known for her love of traveling, dancing, and lighting up every room she entered with her boundless energy and charm.
Millie was a devoted mother to Laura Santiago, Martha Santiago, Mark Santiago, David Michael Kollore, and Carmen Guzman Hill; a beloved mother-in-law to Maleik Hill, Leonard Tappin, and Fontava Kollore; and a proud grandmother to Elijah, Genesis, Mark, Desi, Melinda, David III, Angel, Constance, Darion, Bella, George Diamond, Maleik Jr., Destiny, and Ruby. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Kiyro, Davion, David, George Jr., Mason, Chase, Cairo, Esme, and Mia. Millie had two siblings, Miguel Angel Ramos and Joseph Ramos; nephew and niece Miguel and Rasheeda Ramos; and many godchildren. Millie’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and joy. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
