Obituary For Mirelle Castel

Mireille Orisme Castel was born to Mr. Orisma Orisme and Mrs. Madelaine Paul Orisme on February 4, 1957, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, at Hôpital de l’Université d’Etat d’Haiti (Lopital Jeneral). She was the youngest of five children, blessed with three sisters and one brother. From an early age, Mireille exhibited a wisdom and serene demeanor that set her apart, and a strong sense of responsibility. At six years old, she began her education at Guillaume Manigat Elementary. By sixteen, she graduated high school with the Certificat d'Étude Primaire. Mireille pursued her passion for fashion design at a professional college, where she excelled as a seamstress, graduating in the top three of her class. She was promoted to a director role at a seamstress school, where she taught and nurtured students to reach their full potential.

Despite her busy life, Mireille found joy in the simple pleasures of life and kept her faith at the center. Raised in the Catholic Church, she made a significant spiritual shift at fourteen by converting to a Pentecostal church, Eglise De Dieu, where she faithfully attended Bible study and Sunday school. Mireille served as a director, teaching others about God and guiding them in their faith journeys. She was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1999 and served as a Deaconess for 8 years, a choir member, and a Sabbath School team member.

She met her husband, Michel Renaud Castel in 1981, and they had two children, Michelle Annaya and Rubens Edward. Mireille was lovingly referred to as Mimi by her family. She was a beacon of kindness and strength, and her impact on those around her will be cherished forever. She departed from this world on March 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to illuminate the hearts of those privileged to know her. May Mireille find eternal peace in heaven, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all she leaves behind.

Mireille is survived by her husband Michel Renaud Castel; Her children Michelle Castel and Rubens Castel; Her mother Madelaine Paul; Her sisters Marie Jocelyn Orisme and Ghislaine Bristol; Her aunts Zanna Joseph and Jorjette Paul; and uncle Renaud Florestal; Her cousins Serge Paul, Simone Romage, Zette Florestal, Marlene Florestal Gelin, and Addline Forestal Louima; Her sisters-in-law Marie Stanley, Rosette Castel, Magalie Pierre-Castel, Marline Laurent-Castel; her brothers-in-law Alain Castel, Lionel Castel, and Eric Castel; Her nieces and nephews Francia Backer (and her 2 children), Francine Backer-Bell (and her 4 children), Jenny Backer-Agbeja (and her 3 children), Patrick Backer (and his 3 children), Earl M.
