Patricia Joyner, affectionately known as Pat, was born in Harlem, New York, and spent her life spreading love, laughter, and service throughout her community.
Pat first made a home at Taft Houses on 112th Street and Madison Avenue with her first husband, Earl Clark. After Earl’s passing, Pat’s heart eventually found its greatest joy when she married her second husband, Fred Joyner, with whom she shared a deep, enduring love. She remained a devoted wife to Fred until his passing, carrying their memories with warmth and gratitude throughout her life.
She worked faithfully as a sales associate at Macy’s, where her professionalism, punctuality, and warm presence made her unforgettable. Whatever she committed to, she gave fully, with strength, dedication, and joyful purpose.
Her faith guided her throughout her life. Pat was a devoted member of First Corinthian Baptist Church, attending services every Sunday and supporting families through their times of loss. She dedicated herself to helping elders in the Harlem community and served actively in two senior centers, always offering compassion, encouragement, and care.
Pat loved to cook, loved to laugh, and brought humor wherever she went. Her signature “look” before a joke or burst of laughter was known and loved by everyone around her. She also enjoyed playing spades and was famous for her sharp, unbeatable hand.
Patricia “Pat” Joyner was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, her only surviving immediate family member, who carries forward her strength, love, and legacy.
She will be remembered always and cherished forever.
