Patrick Konan Kouassi Obituary Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of Patrick Konan Kouassi at age 40. We grieve Patrick's passing, and yet still hold on, believing that God knew when it was best for Patrick to be called back to Himself. A product of his parents' homelands of C6te d'lvoire and Haiti, Patrick was born on January 13, 1981 in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in sunny San Diego, CA, where he attended Samuel F.B. Morse High School, There, he was a student athlete and was crowned Homecoming Kin8, a testament to Patrick's charismatic personality and ease of befriending others. After graduating high school, Patrick embraced the opportunity to move closer to his East Coast family and attended Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. There, he was a beloved member of the Livingston College campus community, where he studied Biological Sciences (Major) and Psychology (Minor) and served as a Resident Hall Counselor. Patrick graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Arts in May 2O07, but not before leaving his mark on campus by showcasing his many talents in front of adoring fans, winning the title "Mr. R.U." at the Mr. and Ms. R.U. Pageant in 2003. After college, Patrick carved a unique career path for himself in the pharmaceutical industry as a Drug Safety Associate. Patrick was a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, Godfather and friend, He will be remembered for his ability to get along with anyone, no matter their status or background; for his immense love of music and of Latin dance, especially Salsa; for his love of dogs and Nature; for his love of cooking and appreciation of good hot sauce; and for his devotion to God. He will be missed for his infectious laugh and smile, for his thoughtfulness and care, his supportive, loving nature, and for his ability to rise to the occasion, to be there for loved ones when they needed his help the most. There will never be another Patrick Konan Kouassi. But we are comforted by the memories that will live on in those who knew and loved him dearly. When we think of Patrick, may we reflect on Matthew 5:8: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God,"
