THE FINAL BOW

CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF RAY

Raymond “Ray” Cameron

Sunrise: April 6, 1939 · Sunset: October 26, 2026

“Your final bow may have come, but your spirit will forever take center stage.”

With deep sorrow and love, we celebrate the life of Raymond “Ray” Cameron, who passed away at home on October 26, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born on April 6, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, to the late William and Dorothy Cameron, Ray lived a full, vibrant, and fruitful life.

His journey took him from the world of modeling in front of the camera to dressing models for high-end fashion shows, and eventually to New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall, where he spent the final 20 years of his working career. Throughout his life, Ray maintained a natural appreciation for fashion, music, and the art of making an entrance.

Ray’s distinctive sense of style inspired clothing designs that reflected his individuality. For him, looking good was essential to making an entrance! He carried himself with pride, never settled for less, and made sure his presence was anything but ordinary.

Music was woven into Ray’s life, and when the rhythm moved him, there was no keeping him still. He danced as if his life depended on it and loved nothing more than “turning it out” for his fans! He loved to perform and, despite what he might have said, never seemed to mind the attention and adoration. When Ray hit the dance floor, he performed as though he was paid to be onstage. After all, the spotlight was where he belonged!

Ray’s quick wit, wisecracks, and perfectly timed private jokes kept people laughing and made every interaction memorable. He had a way of delivering a clever comment that made you feel like you were part of an exclusive little club. You had to be there, you had to know, and if you knew, you knew! His charm was effortless, his personality unmistakable, and his love of entertaining undeniable.

Ray reminded us that life is meant to be lived with confidence, creativity, a little flair, a good laugh, and, of course, a willingness to hit the dance floor.

A Legacy of Love

Ray leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, style, and unforgettable memories.

He is survived by Rose Knox, his cherished lifelong friend with whom he shared a special bond and the mother of his daughter, Rhonda; his grandchildren, Danielle and Justin; his great-grandchildren, Adrian, Keelee, Meilani, and Kingston; his sister, Judy Rollerson; his cousin Cheryl; his dear neighbor and friend, Norma; and many beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Cameron and Leonard Cameron.

Though Ray may have taken his final bow, the joy he brought into the world will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

We will remember his laughter, his sharp wit, his impeccable sense of self, and the unmistakable flair that made him who he was. We will miss his jokes, his performances, his room-commanding presence, and the small touches that made him wonderfully, unapologetically Ray.

Rest Well, Ray

Keep dancing, keep shining, and keep turning it out for your fans. We know you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Your final bow may have come, but your spirit will forever take center stage.

You will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation will take place.

Send flowers to the service of Raymond Cameron
