Obituary For James Edward Smith, Sr.
Mr. James Edward Smith, Sr. “Little Doc”, from the Enterprise Community, went home to see his Mama on July 8, 2024 following an extended illness. James was born on May 12, 1946. He was the youngest child of James Daniel and Ruby Peterman Smith.
James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dan Smith and Gene Smith.
James is survived by his wife, Janet and their five children; Pat (Dusty) Smith, Tammy (Terry) Shannon, Eddie (Jennifer) Smith, Richie Smith and Regina (Brian) Smith; grandchildren Codi (Zach) Collins, Ricky (Whitney) Smith, Samantha Smith, James “JW” Smith, Hayden Smith, Sarah (Dalton) Croya, Will Smith and Bailee Smith; and ten great grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters Myrtle Brake and Sarah Nell Hill along with numerous nieces and nephews.
James was known for his quick wit and his ability to tell tall tales. Throughout his life, James worked in the granite industry and in his later years he enjoyed peddling produce.
In honor of James, play the lottery. Maybe you’ll find the enjoyment and luck he had through the years.

I HEARD ABOUT THE STORIES LITTLE DOC COULD TELL SETTING AROUND THE OLD OAK TREE. I WAS TOO YOUNG TO FOR THOSE GET TOGETHERS. HE KEPT THE COMMUNITY INFORMED ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING. HE WILL BE MISSED. DENT
"Little Doc" was full of stories. He greeted you with a laugh and a story to share. You could see mischief in his smiling eyes. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Raye (Sharon) Smith (cousin)
