Obituary For Nancy Sue Sims
Ms. Nancy Sims, 82, of Cartlon, GA was born on July 3, 1943 to the parents of John D. Sims and Rebecca Fortson. She peacefully passed away on April 14, 2026 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
She was employed by the University of Georgia, where she retired with over 35 years of service. She joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age.
She is preceded in death by both parents and one son, Rodney L. Sims, one brother, John D. Sims, Jr. and five sisters: Mary Sims, Margene Hale, Emma Skinner, Annie Gideon, and Bertha Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Reginald) Eberhart, Shirley (Harry) Rhodes, one brother, George (Alma) Fortson; two grandchildren, Tadarius Eberhart and Deveyon Eberhart; six great grandchildren; a special niece, Avery; a lifelong friend for over fifty years, Gussie Mack; a devoted nephew that she raised, Deacon Henry Sims, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Barrett Funeral Home Oglethorpe has been entrusted with final arrangements.
