Pam was born on July 22, 1961 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA to parents of Carolyn Paradise ‘nee Howard, and the late Hiram Paradise. Pam passed away of cardiac arrest on September 8, 2025.
She spent her childhood in Stephens, GA, where she was loved by both her Howard and Paradise families, especially adored by her maternal grandparents, John Mell and Lucy Howard, along with her mother’s sisters Mary, Libby, and Edna.
Pam was a 1978 graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, graduating a year earlier than her Class of ’79. Pam earned both her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Education, as well as, her Masters in English and English Literature from the University of Georgia. She was currently employed by Athens Technical College as the Assistant to the Dean of Life Sciences.
Of her greatest life accomplishments, she would quickly say her children.
Pam’s easy going, kind, loving spirit drew to her many friends over the years, among these were her childhood friends Norma Jean Moore Stafford and Linda Helmly. She considered many dear friends, a close-extended family and her many pets as a part of her family.
Pam is survived by her mother, Carolyn Paradise of Stephens, GA; her daughter Morgan Ansley ‘nee Ballew (Brandon) of Kathleen, GA; son Dylan Ballew of Athens, GA; granddaughter, Iris Ellise Ansley, her children’s father, Lee Ballew and her very special cousin, David Moore. She is also survived by her Aunt Beverly Paradise, many Howard and Paradise cousins, and all her beloved extended family of friends.
A Memorial Service for Pam will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church, Stephens, GA. Officiating are Pastor Ken Keely of Antioch Baptist Church and Pastor Brett Mask of Salem Baptist Church.
