Obituary For Roger Dale Carlock

Roger Dale Carlock, age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Roger was born on October 4, 1950 in Aurora, IL, the youngest child of Carl and June Grabow Carlock.

Roger joined the military at age 20. While he was enlisted in the United States Army, Roger learned how to drive tractor trailers in Vietnam. This skill took him on a long adventure driving tractor trailers and later achieved his highest accomplishment of five million accident free miles.

Roger married his bride on 12/12/2012 at 12:12PM in Lexington, GA. He is survived by his wife Barbara Gail Aaron Carlock and his children: Lisa Black of Springfield, IL; Troy (Carol) Carlock of Horn Lake, MS; Tod (Deanna) Carlock of Mount Morris, IL; Sarah (Leland) Lowe of North Aurora, IL; Karl (Carrie) Carlock of Mount Dora, FL; and Justin Carlock of Batavia, IL; Christopher (Melody) Pugh of Harlem, GA; Dennis (Patti) Pugh of Winterville, GA; Norman (Tracey) Pugh of Lexington, GA; Josh (Anna) Grimes of Lexington, GA, and Gwen Owens of Anchorage, Alaska. Also, he is survived by his grandchildren: Dennis (Tiffany) Pugh, Jr., Deanna Maria Pugh; Amanda Robbins; Shelby Pugh; Megan Pugh; Nicki Foster; Maggie (Kyle) Starr; Mollie (Kevin) Hicks; Niko Fudge; Jessica (John) Mullins; Cody Barnett; Sgt. Cory (Ramandep) Barnett; Courtney (Ray) Harris; Bryce Pugh; Savannah Pugh; Sierra Grimes; Bishop Grimes; Marley McCoy; David McCoy; Christian Moon; Jonas Moon; Chelsea, Nikki, Aryanna, and Dylan Carlock; Erica and Katie Wheeler; Cydney, Brianna, and Paige Carlock; Gabriella Born; Kasey Wright; and Dean Lowe. His great children are: Anthony Wright, Vently Starr, Amiah Fudge, Trevron Hendricks, Nasya Hendricks, Joey Hendricks, Jr., Dominique Pugh, Donavin Pugh, Austin Barnett, Persephone Barnett, Gracie Barnett, Lily Barnett, Ryan Barnett, Sean Barnett, Bryan Barnett, Wyatt Barnett, and Ansley Hicks. Also, survived by Larry (Dorothy) Carlock of Plano, TX; Donna (Tom) Goodson of Euless, TX; Mary (John) Lewis of Arlington, TX; Bob (Elouise) Carlock of Gainesville, TX; Charles Carlock of Gainesville, TX; Paul and Katy Carlock (deceased).

Roger enjoyed relaxing at home surrounded by his family, including Tucker, his little Yorkie, who was by his bedside every night. Additionally, he enjoyed his camping and fishing as his favorite pastimes, but his true and real thrill was shooting armadillos at night.

His visitation will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 9:00AM to 8:00PM and family hour is from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Barrett Funeral Home - Oglethorpe Chapel, 1064 Athens Road, Crawford, GA. His graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 2617 Vinson Highway in Milledgeville, GA 31061.
