My condolences goes out to my family, cousin Michael will truly be missed. RIP 🌟🤲
Today, I stand here not just as a brother, but as a witness to a life that mattered deeply.
Growing up, I always knew I had someone ahead of me—someone who walked the road first. My brother was that person. Whether he realized it or not, he showed me what strength looked like, what perseverance looked like, and what it meant to keep going even when life didn't always make sense.
The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3 that there is "a time to be born and a time to die." That verse doesn't make loss easier, but it reminds us that every life has purpose, and every season—even this painful one—has meaning we may not yet understand.
My brother's life was not perfect, but it was real. And in that realness, he loved, he struggled, he laughed, and he left an imprint on all of us. He taught me lessons without always using words—lessons about resilience, about loyalty, and about showing up even when it's hard.
In 2 Corinthians 5:7, it says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." Right now, we cannot see the full picture. We can't see why this happened or why it had to be now. But faith tells us that this is not the end of his story—only the end of this chapter.
I find comfort in knowing that God is close to the brokenhearted. That my brother is now at peace, free from pain, free from struggle, resting in a place where tears no longer exist. And while we grieve deeply here on earth, heaven has gained a soul.
As his younger brother, I will carry him with me always—in my memories, in my choices, and in the way I live my life. I hope to honor him not just today, but every day, by loving harder, forgiving quicker, and trusting God more fully.
So today, we don't say goodbye forever. We say until we meet again. And we thank God for the time we were blessed to have with him.
Rest well, my brother. You are loved. You are missed. And you will never be forgotten. - T. Lander Rich
