Harold Edward Blue, son of the late George Townsend and Sarah Bell Blue was born on October 8, 1940 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. He passed away on Monday, December 20, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
At an early age, he became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He attended the Public Schools in Bleheim, South Carolina and graduated with the class of 1958. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. After returning back home from serving our country, he worked many jobs including DuPont in Florence, South Carolina, where he worked many years and finally retired; worked at Boatwright’s Construction for fifteen years as a supervisor and Harold was also the manager of the Bingham Royals Softball team.
He was preceded in death along with his parents; a daughter: Lisa Boatwright and a brother: George Blue.
Harold leaves to cherish his loving memories ~ his sons: George Boatwright, Luther Page, Michael {Tina} Boatwright, Darren Boatwright, Dwain Boatwright, Harold Brown and John Allen Lytch all of Dillon, SC; his daughters: Betty Jean {Alfonza} Morrison of Maxton, NC and Wanda {Jack} Martin Clark of Columbia, SC; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a special soulmate and caregiver: Sadie Hatchell of Dillon, SC; adopted sisters and brother: Annie Blue {Julius} Johnson of Clio, SC, Patricia {Ollie} Pickens of Allenhurst, GA, Henson Blue of Greensboro, NC; special cousin: David Blue of Raleigh, NC; a close friend and caregiver: Charles McGill of Bingham, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Our hearts are heavy for lost of a wonderful Uncle...may Jehovah give my cousins and our family the strength to endure this lost...we love you guys...George Leach and Helen Leach
