James Ebert Clark was one of twelve children born to the late James and Annie Mae Clark on April 8, 1946 in Dillon County, South Carolina.
He left Dillon County, South Carolina in 1955 and moved with his family to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While there Pete, as his family, affectionately called him received his education in Philadelphia Public School Systems.
Born into a large family of six brothers and six sisters, Pete was a family man. Pete loved being around his family, he loved to grill at family gatherings, and he kept us laughing with many of his stories.
As a young man Pete started working early, he worked as a auto-mechanic at Bobby’s Auto Shop in Philadelphia for many years. Pete was a member of Fork Chapel Baptist Church during his early years.
During his life’s journey, Pete met Betty Jean Morris and to that union two children were born. Later on in life he met the love of his life Lenore Wooden and to that union another child was born.
Pete was preceded in death by his son: James (Pee Wee) Clark; five brothers and two sisters, mother and father, three brothers-n-law: Freddie Harris, Clarence Washington, and Ned Freeman.
He leaves to cherish fond memories ~ his two daughters: Amina L. Wooden, Betty (Charles) Mills; five grands: Master Sargent Ronald E Smith, Charlene Hanford, Shareda Mills, MarcQuan Wooden-Kuller, MarcQuis Wooden-Kuller: Six great grandchildren: Ronald E. Smith II, Ava Smith, Aria Smith, Allayna Walton, Kyannah Walton, Iyannah Mill; one brother: John C. Clark of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; four sisters: Eula Harris of Dillon, South Carolina, Emma L. Freeman, Carrie B (Namon) Benson, Joyce Ann (Stewart) Redd all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his adopted children: Derrick Hankins, Assad Hankins, Douglas Wooden, Darwin Wooden, Monique Wooden, Arnetta Hayward and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
