Obituary “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me” John 15:26 Jimmy James German was born on June 22, 1945 to Kathleen Peppers and the late Wayne Bethea. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at McLeod Medical Center-Dillon. Jimmy was born and raised in Little Rock SC of Dillon County. He attended Gordon High School of Dillon. Later he became an employee of Image Carpets (later known as Mohawk) where he worked for 39 years as a Machine Maintenance Supervisor. In addition, he drove trucks for a short period of time also. In 1994, he founded JG Auto Sales and began selling vehicles in the yard of his friend and business partner, Marie Paige. At that moment, he became one of the few black car dealers/business owners in Dillon SC. Early on, Jimmy was a member and lead singer of the Sensational Royal Lights of Dillon SC. He testified and sang about the goodness of Jesus for the majority of his life. Having many songs in which he loved, one of his favorites was “He’s so real.” As a result of this well-known quartet group, The 2nd Generation-Royal Lights was formed. Jimmy was a dependable and a longtime member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock SC under the leadership of Reverend Allen (Inetta) Robinson. He served faithfully as the President of the adult choir, member of the Trustee board, and he handled the yard maintenance as well. Jimmy German leaves to cherish his loving memories: his mother, Kathleen Peppers, his children: George Leo (Terry) Wright of Little Rock SC, Tommy (Toshua) Leach Jacksonville FL, Aliven (Kimberly) Ladson Atlanta GA, Catina (Michael) Pittman Dillon SC, Demetrice (Derrick) Lighty of Florence SC, Dina Leach of Atlanta GA, Nojma Muhammad of Texas, Balestra (Todd) Davis of Dillon SC, Jimmie Leach of Dillon SC, Esperone Huggins of Dillon SC, Dawn Goodwin of Florence SC, Latisha Paige-German of Florence SC, and James German of Whiteville NC. His sisters: Annie German of Little Rock SC, Jessie (Royal) Thomas of Little Rock SC, Sallie Hayes of Latta SC, and Issabella (Ronnie) McKinley of Dillon SC. His Brothers: Willie Lee (Shirley) Peppers of Columbia SC, Freddie Peppers of Dillon SC, and Glenn Peppers of Dillon SC. His only Uncle Acie German of Little Rock SC. His Aunts Lillian Thomas of Rocky Mount NC, and Aunt Georgia German of Dillon SC. Host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special friends Joseph Graves, Albert “Bopete” McCollum, Alexander McRae, and Victor Bethea, John Luther McRae, and Charles Wayne Ivy, The Norton family, all of Dillon/Little Rock SC, and Tawanda Rogers of Riverdale SC.
Family will receive friends at 2477 Hwy 57 North Dillon, SC.
Funeral services Jimmy German, will be held on Sunday July 24th at 4 pm at Manning Baptist.
Public viewing on Saturday July 23rd from 2:30 PM - 6PM and Sunday July 24th from 10AM-3PM at Bartell's Funeral Home
