Obituary For Mr. Lonze Sowell
Lonze Lee Sowell Sr. was born in Dillon, South Carolina on June 18, 1951 to the late Lucy Sowell and Jerome Townsend. Lonze departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Carolina Pines Hospital in Hartsville, South Carolina.
Lonze worked as an industrial mechanic. Lonze was the only son and he had two sisters, one preceding him in death: Mary Ann Townsend.
Lonze married Cora Bell Page in 1975 and to this union two children were born.
He leaves to mourn his passing ~ his wife: Cora Bell Sowell; two sons: Lonzie (Dyani) Lee Sowell Jr. of Suffolk, VA and Andre D. Sowell of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren: Jamari Williams of Dillon, SC, Undreya Sowell, Kyante Greene and AVanti Greene of Suffolk, VA; one sister: Lendra Townsend; two nieces: Jennifer Blue and Krystal Townsend and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.

Add A CondolenceLonze Lee (Head) was the favorite cousin of my childhood. He was the oldest son of my mother's younger sister, Lucy. There were many days of laughter, playing. Fighting, crying and loving as only young cousins can do while enjoying life in innocence. We were the first to drop the "s" from the SOWELLS' NAME AS A COUSIN PACT. Loving memories to my very unique cousin.

Lonze Sowell was a great Bro-N-Law to me! I learned a lot about working on cars from Lonze. My most memorable moment with my brother-n-law was when I was a young boy and we drove from Dillon to Florence in 15 minutes flat! Great ride Brother-N-Law!!! RIP Lil Bro, -Andrew
