Mitchell Floyd Jr. was born on December 12, 1955 in the Riverdale Community of Dillon County, South Carolina to the late Mitchell and Virginia Floyd. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Hampton, Virginia where is was living.

He attended Dillon County Public Schools in Dillon County, South Carolina.

Mitchell was in the United States Army and was a Military Policeman for fourteen years.

Waiting for Mitchell at the Heavenly Gates are ~ his parents: Mitchell and Virginia Floyd and a brother: Melvin Floyd.

Mitchell leaves to cherish fond and loving memories ~ his wife: Sharon Floyd of Lake View, SC; two sons: Quan Floyd of Greenville, SC and Ron Bethea of High Point, NC; two daughters: Y. Monique Floyd of Charlotte, NC and Shana Floyd Dewitt of Georgetown, TX; three sisters: Carolyn Pittman of Coatesville, PA, Joyce Cribb of Lake View, SC and Doris Floyd of Dillon, SC; a grandchild: Isaiah Floyd, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
