Anna “Punk” Williamson McRae was born on May 24, 1953 to the late Rev. Franklin Williamson, Sr. and Bernice Crawford Williamson in Dillon County of Dillon, South Carolina. She departed her life here on earth on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina.
Punk attended the Public Schools of Dillon County and Cornerstone College. After her education she became employed with Latta, District III as a Cafeteria worker for many years, Charlie’s Restaurant and Harbor House Restaurant of which she enjoyed cooking. In her later career she moved into the Child Care Career receiving further education at Northeastern Technical College, Dillon County First Steps, and Local County provided seminars. She was employed with Mothers Love Daycare for twenty-four years where she became a mother figure to many.
Anna “Punk” was a member of Manning Baptist Church for many years. She was a faithful member of the Manning Baptist Mass Choir. Punk will be solely missed by all of whom she touched. She was preceded in death by her over protected and beloved brothers: Joseph “Lil Joe” Williamson, John C. Williamson, Robert “Boogie Baby” Williamson and Councilman Macio “Major” Williamson.
Punk leaves to cherish and to carry her torch ~ her husband: Larry D. McRae of the home; her two sons: Major (Barbara) Williamson of Chester, SC and Bernard Williamson of Dillon, SC; one daughter: Renee (James) McNeil of Greenville, SC; two step children: April Ford of Dillon, SC and Christopher Jonakin of Greenville, SC; three grandkids reared as her own: Ja’Carius Manning, La’Carius Manning and Ja’Naijah Hamilton; other grandkids: Cierra (Gene) Caldwell-McCaskill, Tremond Williamson, Stephon Williamson, Jazzmin Williamson, Zephaniah Baker, Jasmine Hodges, Deja McNeil, JaKayla McNeil, JaQuan McNeil, and LaPariss McNeil; all Kids reared through Mothers Love Daycare; four sisters: Min. Emma (William) Davis of Latta, SC, Bernice McKinley, Florine (James) Cabbagestalk and Gloria Alford all of Dillon, SC; one special sister, best friend, sidekick, road dog and caretaker: Miss Laura Williamson; two brothers: Franklin (Helen) Williamson II and Eddie (Gloria) Williamson; six sisters-in-Law: Anna Rogers, Betty Graham, Co-Pastor Mary (Michael) Keyes, Shirley (Levy) Wells, Lady Esther (Russell) Nelson and Blanche (Roderick) Madison; three brothers-in-law: Thadeous (Connie) McRae, Bishop Henry (Agnes) McRae and John (Cynthia) McRae; eleven great grands, six step great grands, one step great grand; a very supportive nephew: Major Montrice Williamson; god-grandkids: Kareema Carter, LaShawn Mumford and JaQuez Alford; god-daughter: Ruthy Legette; special friends: Gloria Reid, Sally Salmon, Sue Ann Wright, Pastor Dean and Tanya Page, Addie Thomas and Barbara Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
