Obituary For Mrs. Elouise Pittman Page

Elouise Pittman Page was born on April 25, 1933 to the late Liston and Josephine Sellers in Dillon County, South Carolina. She was one of eight siblings born to this union. She departed this earthly life entering into eternal rest on Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Mother Page was educated in the Dillon County public schools until the 8th grade. She worked in farming, being trusted by family members and community members to take their children along with her to work on tobacco farms. She also worked as a housekeeper, a substitute cook in the Dillon County public schools, and Howard Johnson Hotel Restaurant. However, her main job was being a homemaker, caring for her children and grandchildren.

Mother Page was united in holy matrimony at the tendered age of fifteen to the late David “Pete” Pittman, Jr. until his death, in April of 1975. To this union were born twelve children. Two children died shortly after birth. After his death, she continued to raise seven children in the home with the help of the Lord.

On May 17, 1981, Mother Page was united in holy matrimony to Deacon Freddie Page. She worked hard alongside her husband in farming, gardening, and selling cardboard boxes until his health began to fail and his demise in July 1998. From this point, she remained a widow indeed for the remainder of her life.

Mother Page accepted Christ at an early age. She was saved, baptized in the name of Jesus, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38. She was a member of Marshill Bible Way Church #1 in Dillon and later transitioned to Marshill Bible Way Church #2 (later changed to New Covenant Bible Way) in the Gaddysmill area of Lake View, South Carolina. In June 2009, she became a member of Marshill Bible Way Church in Dillon, South Carolina again after the merging of the two churches in which her son, District Elder Tommy Pittman, Sr. was ordained as pastor. Mother Page served on the Missionary Board and was a faithful usher until her health began to fail. She was known for carrying her little red and white cooler, making sure she had Elder Pittman’s Bright and Early Juice, although he cared very little for it, but still drank it with a smile. In church, Mother Page was soft spoken but was known to “spin” when the spirit of God moved upon her. During testimony service, she was known to sing “He’s Sweet I Know,” “I’ve Got Feeling Everything’s Going to Be Alright” or “Victory Shall Be Mine.” There were many mornings you could walk in the living room and hear her praying or reading the bible with her friends-the late Mother Nellie Colvin and Mamie Reaves during their telephone conversations.

Mother Page was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Darren Williams, Sharon German, Latoya Carmichael, and Jakevia Pittman and six brothers.

Mother Page leaves to cherish fond memories ~ her children: Annie Ruth (James) Williams, Azalee Williams, Ellis Liston (Viola) Pittman, District Elder Tommy (Willie Bell) Pittman, William (Angie) Pittman, Joe David (Barbara) Pittman, Sharon (James) Tyson, Michael (Catina) Pittman, Kevin (Victoria) Pittman, Karin (Pastor Jamont) McRae, Annie German, Cornelius Montrice McCollum (grandson) whom she raised as her own; one sister: Lannie Christine (William) Morrison of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister-n-law: Mary Sellers; step-children: Curly (Katie) Page, Lillian Johnson, Ida (Howard) Johnson, Mareathea Bethea, Betty (Joseph) Myers; (46) grandchildren, (63) great grandchildren, (14) great great grandchildren, (23) step grandchildren, (45) step great grandchildren, (14) step great great grandchildren; a special friend of the family: Linda Manning and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
