Geraldine Bethea Stephens was the daughter of the late Rossie Bethea and Mencey Lee Evans Bethea. She was born on January 18, 1951 and departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at McLeod Medical Center, Dillon, South Carolina after a short illness.
She attended the Dillon County Public Schools, Dillon, South Carolina.
She was married to Leo Stephens and to this union two children were born. At an early age she joined Mother Ada Bell Page at the Little Prayer Building and then to Marsh Hill Bibleway #2 where she remained under the leadership of Mother Ada Bell Page. She was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Later in life, she was under the leadership of Bishop William Swindler where she loved singing on the choir and lead in devotion services. Around 2013 Geraldine joined Fresh Beginnings Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Ricky and Ann Gilchrist until her health failed.
Geraldine was preceded in death by five siblings and one grandchild.
Geraldine leaves to cherish fond and loving memories ~ her children: Linda Stephens of Hamer, SC, Billy (Towanda) Stephens of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters: Brenda (William) Harmon, Mary Ann (Bill) Buie, and Almatine Bethea all of Dillon, SC; two brothers: Roosevelt Bethea of Dillon, SC and Joe Louis Bethea of Rowland, NC; two very special ladies: Evangelist Lytch and Della Ratley and other relatives and friends.
