Libby Thayer Barnes was born on July 10, 1956 to Coleen Williams and Ethyel Conyers in Lake View, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life to enter into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 29, 2018.
Libby was educated in the public school systems of Dillon County, South Carolina. Upon graduating from Lake View High School in 1975, she enlisted into the United States Army, Army Reserves and later received an honorable discharge. Her years of employment included: Dental Hygiene Assistant, Teacher Assisting for Latta Middle School of District Three and Assistant for Special Needs.
Libby was the mother of one son, Kendrick J. Barnes who also serves in the United States Army as 1st Lieutenant under the 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 1st Medical Brigade, 61stMedical Battalion, 602nd Medical Company of Fort Hood, Texas.
Libby was a member of the Zion Hill AME Church where she joined at a young age and remained faithful until her demise. She served in many capacities for her church and church organizations.
Libby was well known for her continuous efforts and volunteer services throughout the community. She was also well known for her devoted services to the sick, shut in and any one in need. Libby, a woman of great eminence, was also known for her unique sense of style always adorned beautiful hats, broaches, and scarves.
Preceding Libby in death ~ a brother: Jimmy Conyers.

Barnes of Kileen,Texas; her mother: Coleen Williams of Lake View, SC; father: Ethyel (Leslie) Conyers of Baltimore, MD; aunts: Eva Carmichael, Elaine Williams both of Lancaster, PA, Irene Stephens, Mamie Crawford both of Lake View, SC; uncles: JP Williams of Dillon, SC, JL Conyers of Lake View, SC, Hermon (Sandra) Williams of Dillon, SC; siblings: Easter Williams (Ernest) Inman of Dillon, SC, Roger Williams, Paul Williams, Harold Gene Williams all of Lake View, SC, Rufus Williams of Atlanta, GA; brother: George Conyers of Baltimore, MD; her best-friend: Minister Jackie Utley; adopted daughter: Wanda Burgess; adopted sister: JoAnn Legette Williamson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
