Obituary For Mrs. Queenie Elizabeth Green

Queenie Elizabeth Green was born on May 29, 1947 to Thelma Singletary and Bishop Rogers Sr. in Dillon County, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Queenie grew up in a loving home with her mother and grand parents, Luke and Viola Purnell whom played a major role in her upbringing.

Queenie attended the public schools of Dillon County, South Carolina and she graduated in the class of 1967. She attended Robeson Community College where she studied Early Childhood Development. Queenie retired and worked at South of the Border for well over fifty years, where she held several different positions such as manager, sales clerk and cashier.

Queenie met and married Arnold Louis Green Sr. and they raised four children.

Queenie was a life long member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, South Carolina. She served on the Pastor’s Aide, Missionary Society, member of the Choir, Kitchen Committee and president of the Homecoming Committee.

Queenie along with her great grandparents: Luke and Viola Purnell; her husband: Arnold Lewis Sr; two brothers: Lawrence Rogers and Ernest Rogers Sr; and one sister: Mary Rogers Williams all who preceded her in death.

Queenie leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ her mother: Thelma Singletary Davis; her children of the home: Orlander Junior Singletary, Arnold Louis (Latonya) Green Jr., Chadrick Nelson (Carletta) Green of Dillon, SC, Andrea Simone Green of Rowland, NC, Stephanie Jennifer Renee, Alford (Ernest) of Lumberton, NC, Cassie Marie (Jeffrey) Walker of Lumberton, NC, Maartiniq AR Belin of Fairmont, NC; eight sisters: Viola (Zeke) Smith of Rowland, NC, Pamela (Don) Inman of Little Rock, SC, Deloris Manning, Maedale Barnes, Betty Jacobs, Willie J. Rogers, Sally Rogers, Gloria Rogers all of South Carolina; six brothers: Vernell (Catherine) McNair, Bishop (Celicia) Rogers Jr., Larry Rogers, Randy Rogers, Tyrone (Dorothy) Rogers; one brother-n-law: James Williams all of South Carolina; twenty-four grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; a special friend: Eddie Tart; a special cousin: Doris Sellers; a special uncle: Prince Singletary and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
