Willie Mae Eaddy was the daughter of the late Willie P. Fleming and Myrtois Fleming Richardson was born on November 7, 1941. After the death of her father, she was reared by her step-father, Henry Lee Richardson. On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 she departed her earthly life at MUSC Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.
Willie Mae received her education from Gibbs Public Schools in Pamplico, South Carolina and graduated from Bethel High School in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina.
Willie Mae met Chapman Eaddy Jr. and became united in holy matrimony and with his union they were blessed with three beautiful children. Willie Mae was converted at an early age and joined St. Luke AME Church, Johnsonville, South Carolina and participated faithfully on the choir. She later joined Soul Chapel AME Church in Gresham, South Carolina and was a member of the Celestial Choir until her health began to fail.
Willie Mae was a hard worker and worked many manufacturing jobs. She also worked many years in school district as a substitute teacher.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was passionate about singing, loved writing poems, and creating skits.
She was preceded in death by five Sisters: Lenora Davis, Mary F. Jackson, Helen Suber, Almeta Grant, Prescilla R. Frazier; two brothers: Woodrow Fleming and Willie A. Fleming.
Willie Mae leaves to cherish fond loving memories ~ two sons: Samuel A. Eaddy and Darriel A. Eaddy of the home; two daughters: Melissa M. Eaddy and Chinaru Teshima whom she considered as her daughter both of Gresham, SC; six grandchildren: Alijaleel Eaddy, Sahrah Eaddy, Traveon Teshima, Teon Teshima, De’quavius Smith, and Sydeni Boatwright whom she considered as her grand-daughter; fourteen great-grands; two sisters-n-law; three brothers-n-law; a special cousin: Sue Carol Hayward; her special friends: Mary Lou Tennie, Glory Graves, Mazie Woodberry, Mamie Robinson, Marjorie “Pick” Richardson, Diane Richardson and Ruby, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Even though we only new each other for a few years I luv and cherished you and your spirit from the first day we met. Auntie we will miss u but God needed another flower in his garden and came out got our Auntie Will a Mae. Sleep on and RIP. Lisa
