Hattie departed this earthly life on the afternoon of Thursday, May 2, 2019 at her home under the loving care of her son: Corey White, her loyal friend: Leroy Green and staff of Hospice House.

For two years Hattie put up a brave fight with cancer, never complaining, always praising God because she felt she was not suffering like she had seen others when she would go for her treatments. Hattie later relocated to New York where she met Roy White. They were united in holy matrimony in 1988. From that union they had one son: Corey White. They lived in Amityville, New York later she relocated to Jamaica Queens, New York, when her husband became sick and he wanted her to be close to her siblings, so they relocated to Dillon, South Carolina.

Hattie was a faithful Deaconess at the New Hope Baptist Church in Far-a-away, New York. When she returned to Dillon, she joined Fork Chapel Baptist Church, there she worked in ministry and the choir.

Hattie love for Christ was evident in her walk. Hattie was known for her loving kindness, she did not know how to say “no” to anyone. Everyone loved her cooking especially her candied yams, and if you were sick and needed her she was there. Hattie truly exhibited the love of Jesus.

Hattie was preceded in death by her husband: Roy White and two brothers: Bobby Cooper and James Preston Cooper; one sister: Juanita Gee and one aunt: Marie Adams.
