Having known Queen for most of our lives, it is extremely hard to acknowledge the passing of our dear friend and classmate. (GHS Class of 1968) Life is not forever, but our love for her will last an eternity. May God Bless The Thompson and McRae Families.

Mrs. Queen Thompson McRae was the embodiment of Psalm 90:12, having taught many of us "..to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

As my 6th grade teacher, she not only taught lessons from a classroom; she imparted wisdom that helped to shape the hearts and the minds of those under her tutelage. I am grateful to have been a direct beneficiary of the impact of her life and her teaching.

I extend deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, former students, and all who were touched by her life. May God comfort and strengthen each of you during this time of transition. My prayer is that the wisdom she poured into so many may continue to bear fruit for generations to come.

We were saddened to hear of aunt Queen's passing. We will always cherish memories of her. Our daughters was very fond of their aunt, as many were. Even though our daughters didn't see her often, she left an impact of her love on them for the time they did get to see and converse with her. This was how she made many feel, loved, at ease and a sense of belonging. We will always remember and cherish fond memories of aunt Queen. I have had the opportunity of engaging with Mrs. McRae for about 25 years and needless to say, she was always about church, family, and the community. We may have lost the battle, but God has won the war. I will always love you and there aren't any words that will ever describe what I am feeling right now.
