Obituary For Rev. Randolph Stackhouse, Jr.

Reverend Randolph Stackhouse Jr. was the son of the late Reverend Randolph and Mary Ann Harlee Stackhouse Sr. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his residence in Hamer, South Carolina. He confessed Jesus Christ at an early age.

He attended the Dillon County Public Schools in Dillon, South Carolina. After graduating from Gordon High School, he moved to New York City and worked various jobs including working at the YMCA for a couple of years, worked at Upstate Medical Center and Bristol Myers Squibb where he retired from after more than twenty-five years of service.

Randolph became an ordained minister and he later went to Colgate Divinity School where he received his doctorate degree in the Ministry. Reverend Stackhouse was in various programs such as ACTS (Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse); he was the President of the Prison Ministry for the Northeastern District Baptist Association and taught Christian Education for many years; Reverend Stackhouse also pastored Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for more than twenty years.

He was preceded in death along with his parents; his loving wife: Linda Wagner Stackhouse; his sisters: Maudell Stackhouse, and Patricia Ann Stackhouse; brothers: Harry Stackhouse, Richard Stackhouse, and Robert Eugene Stackhouse.

Reverend Randolph leaves to cherish his loving memories ~ his son: Eric {Dee} Wagner of Syracuse, NY; two grandchildren: Shareese Wagner and Darien Coplin; one great grandchild; three sisters: Betty Jo Stackhouse, Mary Lois Stackhouse both of Hamer, SC and Rev. Katie Stackhouse McCallum of Atlanta, GA; his Antioch and Syracuse Church families whom he kept in contact regularly; his church children that loved dearly: Deacon Ira Sanders, Jeffery Felton, Timmy Felton, Gwen Kinsley, Momma Kinsley all of Syracuse, NY and Gina Windom of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Randy (I knew him before he was a Reverend) was a true friend to all of his co-workers at the Bristol plant in Syracuse. He made an impact wherever he went.

A true man of God indeed. I have had the pleasure of having Pastor Stackhouse as my Pastor for 26 years at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Syracuse NY.He not only was my Pastor, he was a father figure and a friend. He always had an encouraging word, or he would chastise you ,then tell he loves in the same breathe. I will miss his teaching and preaching, but most of all, his friendship.
