I've known Winfred—"Murdaugh," as we affectionately called him—since the 8th grade. He was more than a friend; he was family, a cherished part of "The Hill" community where we grew up together. Murdaugh had a way of lighting up a room with his smile and quick wit. He never complained, no matter what life brought his way. I carry with me so many fond memories of our youth, laughter, and the deep pride he always showed for his family. He spoke of Lavue, the love of his life, with such tenderness. His face would glow when he talked about his son, Chip. He admired Monica's dedication as a sister and held a special place in his heart for AJ, his beloved nephew. Through it all, Murdaugh remained steady, joyful, and kind. Larry and I will continue to hold Lavue and the entire family in our thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in the many beautiful memories of a life well lived and deeply loved.

Winfred, Monica and I along with many others grew up in the community known as "The Hill". Winfred was a very intelligent young man always with a jovial disposition. My fondest memories of him is the laughter we shared while doing what teenagers did . . . being a little mischievous. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his family. May God continue to comfort you during your time of bereavement. Blessings to you all.

From the moment I received the news of Winfred's passing, my heart has been heavy. I met Winfred shortly after you two were dating and I found him to be a beautiful and loving soul. He was a joy to be around and I loved that he loved you so sweetly. We were in one another's weddings and never lost touch. Dr. Murdaugh, although I know you know the Lord, it doesn't mean that you won't feel sorrow and pain. I pray that as you navigate through this devasting time that you will experience the peace of God like never before. Know that you and your family are certainly in our thoughts and prayers.
