Obituary For Mr. Reginald Jerome Bouie, Sr.

Reginald Jerome Bouie, Sr. received the gift of life on January 31, 1962, to the late John Henry, Sr., and Mary J. Bouie in Rochester, New York.

He transitioned from his earthly home on February 20, 2025, in the HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida.

He embraced a life filled with love, faith and service, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion. As he yielded to the will of God, he accepted Christ into his life and became a devoted member of Eastside Church of Christ under the leadership of Brother Ray Williams. Reginald, affectionately known as Chop, Red-Diggity, and Uncle Fen, was a 1980 graduate of Rutherford High School. He was a true fan of the New Orleans Saints. He was united in marriage to the late Lessie Helms. This union created many fond memories.

Chop was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry, Sr., and Mary J. Bouie; wife, Lessie Helms Bouie; two brothers, John H. Bouie, Jr., and John Wayne Bouie; one sister, Jacqueline Bouie Bishop; and his grandparents.

Chop leaves to cherish his memories; two sons, Reginald Bouie, Jr., and Anterious Bouie; one daughter, Javonna Cumbee; three stepchildren, Lawanda George, Jeffery George, and Kendrick George; five grandchildren, Javon, Anteria, Jayden, Cameron and Hailey; five sisters, Beatrice Hopkins of Greensboro, FL, Evangelist Barbara Harper and Pamela Bouie, both of Montgomery, AL, Beverly Harris of Panama City, FL, and Karen (Clencie) Larry of Lynn Haven, FL; one brother, Jeffery (Sandra) Bouie of Rodenbach, Germany; aunts, Jewel Riley of Gretna, FL, Sarah Cox of Panama City, FL and Jean Bouie of Rochester, NY; uncles, William (Gloria) Riley of Panama City, FL, and Donell (Lisa) Freeman of Miami, FL; special friend, Lonnie Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. To know him was to love him. We will continue on with his memory, his light, and his love.

Homegoing services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Temple C.O.G.I.C. located at 3501 East 2nd Street Panama City, Florida with Superintendent Emeritus John M. Gipson, Pastor Brother Raymond Williams, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the Redwood Cemetery with the caring staff of Peoples Funeral Home directing.
