On Wednesday, June 9th, Ms. Opehilia Gill of Lynn Haven, Florida passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior at the Sacred Hearth Hospital in Port St. Joe, Florida. She was 87 years old.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. She was joined in matrimony to the late Joe Gill.
Honey Feet leaves treasured memories with one sister, Evelyn Horne of Tampa, Florida; two daughters, Sophie L. Horne of Lynn Haven, Florida and Billie (Sean) Legier of Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, Taylor Kendrell Smith of Houston, Texas and Chloe Ophelia Smith of Los Angeles, California; and a host of cousins and friends; also special thanks and recognition to her niece, Penny Charles of Baltimore, Maryland; special friends, Lucille, Willie, Mattie, Becky and Diane); special appreciation and recognition to Mary Nell Brown, Ophelia’s special caregiver and the great staff at Cross Shore Nursing Facility for their care and compassion of our dear mother.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, June 19th at 2pm. from the Battle Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Darryl L. Hooks, Rev. David Rhone, Sr. and Rev. Calvin Griffin, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Community Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Battle Mortuary of Panama City.
