Mrs. Ernestine Prather, 82, of 100 Davis Street, Eatonton, Georgia passed away Wedesday, July 31, 2019 in Cartersville, Georgia. She was born November 5, 1936, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, by the way of Newnan, Georgia, then Eatonton, Georgia. Ernestine was married to the late Isaiah Prather. She was a member and usher at Free Gift Baptist Church, Eatonton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie M. Little, stepfather, Tommy L. Little, six children, Loving Lonnie Frank Ingram, and a very special sister-in-law, Mattie Prather.
Ernestine Prather was the mother of seven children; those deceased are: Hattie Prather, Jeffery Prather, Bobbie (Prather) Andrews, Elliott Prather, Jarvis Prather and Rodney Prather. Her serviving child is Johnny Prather.
Leaving behind to cherish her loving memories are her grandchildren, Tammy (Jason) Hoy, De’Joan, Kemlys, and Kira Andrews, Thomasinna (Apollo) Robinson, Thomaesa Bailey, Suekita Robinson, Lil Johnny Dennis, Sean Prather, Michael Morrow, Sharonda Roberts, Anglet Gray, Mohagany Prather, Teara Harrison, Kendra Smith, Akeema Griffin, Kamilah Pitts, Quadrick Griffin, and Damion Pitts; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Bernard's Chapel, 103 Willie Bailey Street, Eatonton, Georgia, Rev. Gregory Ellison, Officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Eatonton City Cemetery.
Viewing and visitation hours will be Friday, August 9, 2019 from 1:00 - 7:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral establishment.
