It is with heartfelt sympathy that Boyd & Royster Funeral Services announces the passing of Mr. Charles Townes, Sr., age 66, of Church Hill Road, Macon, North Carolina, who departed this life on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Maria Parham Health.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Boyd & Royster Funeral Services and burial will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his two loving children, Sharanda Kearsey and Charles Townes, Jr.; four beloved grandchildren; one sister, Fay Townes; three brothers, Earnest Townes (Felly), Stanley Townes, and Grover Townes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He may be viewed on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of my classmate and close friend. We talked and laughed with each other whenever our paths brought us together. For GOD so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him would not perish but have ever lasting life. We will meet him again.
