In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.

Deacon James Baker, age 95, of Warrenton, North Carolina departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2024, at his residence.
Celebration of life for Deacon Baker will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 1:00PM in the chapel of Boyd & Royster Funeral Services 149 Holland Bland Rd. Warrenton, North Carolina. Reverend Thurman Davis will deliver the eulogy, interment will follow at Shocco Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 180 Shocco Church Rd. Warrenton, North Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Barbara Dunston (Charlie) of Henderson, NC; Kenneth Baker (Barbara) of Warrenton, NC; Shirley Alston (Howard) of Henderson, NC; Larry Baker of Henderson, NC; Joseph Davis (Evon) of Wake Forest, NC and Adcutt Davis (Faye) of Warrenton, NC; three brothers, William Baker (Linda) of Warrenton, NC; Ernest Baker of Henderson, NC; and Wilbert Baker (Teresa) of Grove, GA; four sisters, Eva Tyler of North Wales, PA; Susan Williams and Annie Walden of Warrenton, NC; and Sarah Harris (Thomas) of Harrington, DE; twenty-seven grandchildren (not including three that preceded him in death), sixty-one great grandchildren, twenty-three great-great children, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other special relatives and friends.
Deacon Baker may be viewed on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 2-6PM at Boyd & Royster Funeral Services.
At the request of the family, we ask that no photos are taken during this time of bereavement.
