As children Percelle and I along with my late cousin Willie Mcaffee and late friend Michael Jefferson use to have so great times, just laughing, joking and playing. Willie and I would team up and play basketball against Michael and Percelle constantly. The win some and we would win some and the bragging rights never ended. Even as an adult every time I saw him we would speak of the good old days and laugh. Purcell was a good man and I know God welcomed him with open arms. Hold it down in heaven, til I see u again my friend

God bless your family

Percell worked with my late husband. He was a good friend after my loss. He always had a smile and a story to tell me about Hippie. He will be greatly missed. His love for his family was always apparent. My condolences go out to his family and friends. Love ya man.

First Of All, I Have To Give A Shout Out To My Late, Great Friend Michael Jefferson For Introducing Purcell And His Family Into My Life • I Am So Thankful To Have Known Purcell Hargrove. He Was A Good Man! His Mom, Dad And Entire Family Were Also Good People And Touched A Lot Of Young People In The 60's, 70's And 80's. I Ate My First Hoe Cake From The Stove Of His Mother Martha • Purcell And His Brother Stanley Were Very Athletic And Most Of The Time Left An Impression On All Of The Youngsters Our Age • If You Saw A Clean Chevy Back In Those Times, It Was Most Likely One Of Theirs......Purcell And Stanley Were Hard Workers As Young Men • We All Were Hired Helpers In Tobacco For The Local Farmers In Drewry And Manson • They Both Worked Their Way To Be Self Made Men And Ended Up Being Properous Black Men In Their Communities And Family! They Both Started Young By Landing Good Factory Jobs, Owning Theirs Own Cars And Making An Honest Way For Their Families • Thanks Purcell For Setting A Positive Example For Young Men To Follow! You Will Definitely Be Missed • To God Be The Glory For Your Being! DREWRY/MANSON EXIT 223 #SpreadTheLove Don Burnette A.K.A. "DONNYB"
