Sidney Nathaniel Lucas 83, of Pikeville, North Carolina passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 after suffering heart failure.
Sidney, was born on April 16th to John Rassie and Mamie Elizabeth Morse-Lucas in Nash County, Elm City, North Carolina. After Sidney attended Warren County Training School, he kickstarted his career as a Professional Butcher. Sidney later on opened his first business as an Auto Mechanic.
In 1999, Sidney met Jennifer in Philadelphia, Pa. Sidney and Jennifer went on to live & enjoy life together for 20 years as husband and wife. Sidney loved Jennifer’s children dearly as his own.
Upon Sidney’s retirement he spent his time working on classic cars.
Sidney was predeceased by his Parents, Wife Jennifer, Sister Pocahontas West and brother-in-law Eugene Greene.
He is survived by one sister, Evangelist Mamie Greene of Norlina; two brothers, John Homer (Sister in-law Patricia) of Virginia, Bishop James Oliver (sister in-law Judy) of Snow Hill, brother-in-law Willie West of Oakland and one Aunt, Ruby Ann Russell of Brooklyn. A host of Stepchildren, Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Godchildren & Friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Hooks Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 290 Hooks Grove Church Road, Pikeville, NC 27863 on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 11am (viewing at 10am). The Reverend Harold Warren will officiate. A Memorial Service will take place Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Boyd & Royster Funeral Home 149 Holland Bland Road, Warrenton, N.C. 27589 at 11am. The Reverend Tony W. Cozart will officiate

RIP cousin Sydney May i remember you as a little boy when you used to visit Papa Roy and Mama Selma and i saw you later on at Church when you came to visit, i didn't know you were sick, but may god embrace you with loving arms and get your rest.
